Projekt Matematyka
A school that had to move online overnight
Projekt Matematyka is a Polish math academy. We had already built the school a smaller e-learning MVP. When the pandemic closed classrooms, we helped it go a great deal further. Students were stuck at home. The exams were still coming. The teaching could not simply stop. So we built the academy one place online where its courses could carry on, part website and part e-learning platform, with the classroom itself reachable from a desk in a bedroom. For a lot of students that year, it was how they kept up.

We designed the school's front and its teaching tools as one product
We took it from a blank page. The work started with strategy and moodboards, then several rounds of wireframes for both the public site and the CMS behind it, then a design system the whole platform now stands on. Designing the school's marketing face and its teaching tools together, rather than as two separate projects, is a big part of why they feel like a single product rather than a site with a login bolted on.

Sign up, pay and get the paperwork, all in one place
Enrolling on a course runs end to end without anyone at the school raising an invoice by hand. A student picks a course, enrols, pays and gets the paperwork back, because the platform is wired into Fakturownia for invoices and receipts. If a course is already full, they can join the reserve list and get pulled in the moment a seat opens. The same commerce backbone also runs a separate shop for the academy's publishing, so its books sell alongside its classes.

The same lesson, in the room or over Zoom
A lesson can be attended two ways. Students who come in sit in the room. Students who cannot are one click from the same class over Zoom, with the join link waiting in their group or their matura workshop. During the lockdowns that was the whole point. It still earns its keep now, for the student who is ill, or snowed in, or simply too far away to travel.

A CMS the teachers run the whole school from
Behind all of it is a heavily extended CMS built on Laravel Backpack. It is where the academy runs day to day. Teachers build courses and lessons, load the materials, set who can see which lesson and keep the weekly practice task fresh. They manage students and groups, control the schedule and export class lists when they need them. The whole public side, the courses, the news, the opinions, the FAQ, is edited from the same place. We built it so the school can run itself without calling us for routine changes.

Progress, practice and the matura workshop
The platform is built around learning, not just watching videos. Progress is tracked as students move through a course. A task of the week keeps them practising between lessons. And for the students facing the matura, Poland's school-leaving exam, there is a dedicated workshop that pulls the preparation together in one place. These are the parts that turn a shelf of recordings into an actual course.

Built on Laravel and Next.js, supported ever since
Technically the platform is a Laravel API and backoffice paired with a Next.js front-end, a split that lets the public site stay fast while the school's tools stay powerful. We built the whole thing from scratch. We have supported it as the academy's technology partner ever since, through everything from a change of video player to new commerce flows. A platform that started as an answer to a crisis has become the way the school simply works.
Outcome
Projekt Matematyka took a math academy online and kept it there. What began because classrooms were shut has long outlasted the reason it was built. The academy runs its courses, its enrolments and its invoicing through one platform, teaches students wherever they happen to be and keeps growing with us alongside it.
